Terms

The terms for using Lacuna while it is in early access. Last updated 2 November 2026.

The service

Lacuna reads the documentation your team connects (a GitHub repository, a Confluence space or Notion pages), answers questions from it, reports pages that look stale, contradictory, duplicated or missing, and proposes changes. By signing in or connecting a source you agree to these terms. If you use Lacuna for your employer, you agree to them on its behalf and confirm you may do so.

Lacuna is in early access. Features change, some are unfinished, and we may pause or end the service. We will tell you before we end it, so you have time to take what you need.

Accounts

You sign in with Google. Access is by invitation while we are in early access. Keep your account to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with it. The owners and admins of an organization decide who joins it and which sources it connects.

Your content

Your documents, questions and answers stay yours. You give us permission to copy, index and process them only to run Lacuna for your organization: to search them, answer from them, audit them and draft changes to them.

To do that, we keep a copy of the text of each connected source, split into passages, and send passages and questions to the AI providers we use: Anthropic for answers and drafts, and Voyage AI for search. We use them through their business APIs and do not use your content to train models.

Lacuna only proposes changes. Nothing is written to your repository or wiki until someone in your organization approves it, and a pull request it opens still waits for you to merge it.

Only connect content you are allowed to share with us. Removing a source deletes our copy of its documents; deleting an organization deletes everything it holds. How we handle personal data on this website is in our privacy notice.

Other services

Lacuna connects to services you already use, such as GitHub, Atlassian, Notion, Slack and Google. Your use of them stays under their own terms, and you can revoke Lacuna's access from them at any time.

Fair use

Don't use Lacuna to:

  • break the law or anyone else's rights;
  • access an organization, account or source that isn't yours;
  • probe, overload or disrupt the service, or get around its limits;
  • copy the service to build a competing one.

We may suspend access that does any of these, and will tell you why.

Answers can be wrong

Lacuna's answers, audit findings and drafts are generated by AI from your documents, and they can be incomplete or wrong. Every answer links to its sources; check them before relying on it, and review every proposed change before approving it.

Fees

Early access has no published price. If we ever charge for Lacuna, we will agree the price with you first; nothing is billed without your agreement.

No warranty, limited liability

While in early access, Lacuna is provided as it is, without any promise that it will be available, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, profits or business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Ending

You can stop using Lacuna at any time: remove your sources, or have an owner delete your organization in Settings. We may end your access if you break these terms.

Changes

We will update these terms as Lacuna grows. When a change matters, we will tell you before it applies; the date at the top always shows the latest version.
